Welcome to KittyRoomStuff

Notice:

Dear kittyroomstuff patrons,

A table saw injury to my hand in November 2009 has hindered my ability to do production woodwork. So the production and sale of finished shelves, boxes and bunk beds will be discontinued as of May, 1, 2010.

This website will be transformed into an instructional and information site where kitty people can come to learn how to build those things as well as litter box covers, cat walk ramps with upright posts and modular cubbies, as well as how to make a room in your house into a kitty room.

The conversion will take some time. During that transformation some specials for do-it- yourself woodworkers to build their own shelves and boxes from pre cut parts will be posted.

Thank you for your support,

My best to your kitties

Richard

Are you tired?

  • Tired of buying those large, pricey, carpet-covered towers for your cats?
  • Tired of replacing them every year or so?
  • Tired of giving up all that floor space?

Would you like something more durable and long lasting?

How about something that will not gather cat vomit and dander?

Maybe even something that will not collect cat odors.

Perhaps something that will not become a shredded, smelly, flea nest- yet is easy to clean and maintain.

You can have it all with kittyroomstuff wall shelves and boxes featured on this web site.

These wall shelves and boxes allow you to watch your cats enjoy a disease free, flea free and odor free play system. All the while, the shelves and boxes will be up and out of the way, neatly mounted on the wall in your home, office or sanctuary.

Not only that, but these shelves and boxes will last for years to come. You can move them from room to room or take them with you when you relocate.

This unique solution for cat exercise and fun can be yours for less than the cost of a large carpet-covered cat tower.

Just click on the wall shelves and boxes tab at the top left of this page and order yours today.

Ferdi Ann

As a cat of discriminating taste (this cat is not easy to please), Ferdi Ann has tested  many shelf and box variations and upgrades. At long last she has given her purr of approval to this streamlined system.

This indoor wall system is an accumulation of design development that began at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah in 1998. The new cat buildings were still under construction when I was assigned to make something for the cats to play on in their new rooms. These 14 rooms later were known as Wild Cat Village.

Developing a modular and efficient system that was functional for both the cats and caregivers took approximately three years to resolve. The cat staff and I learned a lot about what not to make available to the cats, as well as what they prefer. After five more years and the construction of 15 additional cat rooms, and 7 kitten rooms, the subtleties of form and function were achieved.

Let the cat fun begin.

Sincerely,

Richard McDonald
